Some things can have a big impact!

So you go to the gym a couple of times a week, but still eat like a garbage disposal and drink like a fish out of water. If your committed enough, exercise can start to affect other areas of your daily life. Slowly you will become focused on your activities outside of the gym.

You may start to wonder, why is it so hard to drink 8 glasses of water a day but it’s mega easy to down 8 beers and 4 shots in about 2 hours. After this sits heavy on your mind like that bad hangover your probably experiencing after a night like that, a light bulb slowly start to light up. You question, what if drinking is causing me to look like a monster out of an 80’s horror film and if I drink moderately or not at all can things change?

Yes, they can!

After this revelation hits you, more and more positive changes creepy their way into your life. It’s almost like some positive zombie apocalypse is upon you. You start drinking less and sleeping more, your gym efforts show some results and your craving a bit more. That perfectly cooked hamburger dripping with cheese and covered in bacon isn’t cutting it anymore. Its amazing when you eat it, but afterwards you need a plumber to unclog your pipes. You hear about this thing called a health food store, which might be a total lie. Of course, like most things you have to prove it wrong. You kick open the doors to this organic locally grown palace and start to question  existence itself.

In the back is a weird deli that serves vegan salads and smoothies, with great optimism you try one and it’s not that bad. You like it so much that you start grabbing one of those healthy treats at least one to twelve times a week. You’re crushing these smoothies like a college freshman drinking beer at a frat party. You notice the clarity of thinking you start developing, your body feels more energetic, and it’s just because of some smoothie. Slowly but surely, these little healthy eating habits spread throughout your daily routine.

But, you still want more!

You’re reading every article or magazine you can find that is healthy and start posting these pictures of salads and smoothies on basically all your social media accounts. That Friday night of partying doesn’t seem so exciting anymore, instead you’re watching at home practicing yoga, eating some healthy treats and spending time with the people who really matter in your life.

All of this change from just a simple trip to the gym a couple of times a week, crazy huh. Positive thinking and healthy habits work for you as long as you focus your energy on them.
