Today we are plagued with so many points of access. We have our smart phones, various social media sites, email, dating app’s, games, Netflix, tv, work, friends, family. There are tons of things that keep us busy and our minds working. We are constantly engaged from the time we get up in the morning till the time we go to bed at night. Constantly thinking what is next, what do you have to do, what you missed, over thinking something, and just constantly thinking.
We never take a moment to let our brains rest. To relax for a short moment and allow it to catch up with everything that is going on. Using our minds so much uses a lot of calories and deplete our energy stores. This causes us to be exhausted by the end of the day. Think about it, all you did was sit in a desk chair and think all day.
What if you stopped for just a moment. Stopped to let your brain rest, like mediating or something. This will allow your brain to catch up a bit to the hectic day your having, help calm you down a bit, and let you continue your day with a bit more focus than you had before. Mediating is pretty simple, but it requires a great deal of patience and time. You need to practice mediation for a while before you can being to see longterm beneficial effects.
Another way to help your brain is through nutrition. Eating donuts, coffee, a sandwich, and some meatloaf for dinner is not the best fuel for your brain. Try eating more fruits and vegetables, drink herbal teas, take herbal supplements, or vitamins. When you begin to nourish your brain properly for a longer period of time, you will notice significant changes. You will be calmer, more level-headed, resolve issues a lot faster that you use to, and be happier.
You could also try sleeping a regular 7-8 hours a night. When you are sleep deprived your brain has little time to strengthen and clean itself. With your brain not being able to truly recover it will cause concentration issues, your critical and analytical thinking will go down, and slowly you’ll become more irritable.
Give your brain some time off during the day. Let it rest and gather its strength so that you can lead a better life.
