Beer, because you gotta!

Beer is well, great. This rich golden drink gives you liquid courage to talk to your crush, helps you and your friends make bad decision late at night, and it can actually be healthy for you (in moderation). Healthy? How can beer be healthy? Lets take a look at the ingredients and see what we can find out.

Beers main ingredient is Water. Water does a number of things for your body. Moistens your skin, water helps you lose weight, and it helps flush toxins from your body. Then we have Grains, mostly malted barley but other grains are used as well. Grains bring a number of positive things with them such as B vitamins, minerals, and dietary fiber. The Hops are probably the healthiest ingredient in beer. They are great with relaxation/sleep, have anti-inflammatory properties, help with infections, are anti-cancer, help with menopause symptoms, are anti-viral, help fight acne, and can even promote weight loss. Last, but not least we have Yeast. Now these guys are responsible for it all. They provide the beer with protein, minerals, b vitamins, they are anti-bacterial, anti-viral, and help with fermentation.

In their raw forms, each of these ingredients if well sourced have good nutritional value for the body. When the are combined and used to make beer, things change. With the help of fermentation the B-vitamins, minerals, and proteins are more bio-available. Meaning your body can easily absorb them. The anti-bacterial and anti-viral properties are stronger with the combination of the hops and yeast. You can even get beer muscles from the carbohydrates that are provided from the grains.

On top of all that, beer can even reduce the risk of heart disease, help lower the risk of diabetes, reduce cholesterol levels, help regulate blood pressure, and help prevent kidney stones. It can also boost your memory which can help prevent Alzheimer’s and dementia. Drinking warm beer can also help while your sick. The warm barley helps with circulation and helps you breathe when you feel congested.
